I guess you could call this my origin story.

How did I get here? Let’s say, like most defining moments in one’s life story, Sticky Communications came into existence through a series of unfortunate and fortunate events. 

My career has taken me through the world of developing, storyboarding, and pitching content for magazines to managing teams, workload, and marketing efforts for the AEC industry.

Whether Sticky Communications lasts for 2 months or 20 years, it’s a passion I believe is worth fighting for. Not just to prove something to myself and others, but to lean into the best version of myself and help others around me do the same.

If you get to know me, you’ll soon find out I’m a sucker for an epic movie quote. In fact, I’m a firm believer that there’s a movie quote or reference for pretty much everything. So, to demonstrate, allow me to share this quote from J.R.R Tolkien’s “The Fellowship of the Ring” that has so often come to mind in difficult situations and so beautifully sums up how we choose to respond to them:

Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this would have happened.

Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide. All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you.

Every opportunity I’ve received or pursued, every obstacle and closed door, and every career move and victory throughout the last decade and even beyond, has set the stage for this new chapter in my story: Sticky Communications. Was it destiny? Perhaps. I do know it wouldn’t have happened without a plan, the yucky moments in between, and the fortune of finding the right people. Will you join me?
